Membrane and cytoplasmic fluorescence tests were performed on 132 sera from normal controls and patients with Burkitt's tumor or leukemia. Antigen consisted of four lymphoblast cultures, two containing and two lacking a herpes‐type virus. Essentially all tests were negative with the virus‐free lines, but gross discrepancies occurred between the tests with the cell lines that contained virus.
