Team‐based employee involvement programs (EIPs) come in all sizes and shapes. The three general categories include: Level 1, in which management diagnoses and decides, with limited input from employees; Level 2, in which—within limited assigned times—employees diagnose and recommend; and Level 3, in which decision making is done on a daily basis by those closest to the action. Equating these levels causes a misinterpretation of the true effectiveness of EIPs.
