This study focuses on the individual career development process of M.B.A.s on the job, in an era emphasizingpersonal responsibility for learning and development. The impact of learning opportunities and individual learningbehavior was analyzed through repeated measures. Hierarchical regressions and difference‐of‐meanstests were performed based on survey data collected from early‐career M.B.A.s. Several relationshipsbetween the research variables were found to be consistent with current literature. The results provide leads forfurther research into effects of both context and personal characteristics on the individual's careerdevelopment process on the job.
