This study predicted the performance of 107 student case teams from ten sections of a management class by usinga measure of team structure and four measures of team process. Satisfaction with the team was significantly andpositively related to team structure and three of the process variables. In contrast, although team structure andteam spirit were significantly and positively related to grade (on the case project), social support wassignificantly but negatively related to grade. This article compares student teams and work teams and discussesimplications for organizational training and management education.
