Summary Having an accurate account of the number of national COVID‐19 cases is essential for understanding the national and global burden of the disease and managing COVID‐19 prevention and control efforts. There is also substantial under‐reporting of COVID‐19 cases and deaths in many countries. In this article, the COVID‐19 under‐reporting problem in Turkey is addressed, and examples and reasons for the under‐reporting are discussed.
