The 195 Pt‐nmr spectra of several Pt IV ‐ and Pt II ‐complexes have been measured in aqueous solutions. It has been shown that this method has great potentialities for the evaluation of the bonding character in platinum complexes. The 195 Pt‐resonance spectra of solutions containing mixed chloro‐bromo‐complexes of Pt IV have been used for the estimation of relative stabilities of these complexes. It is pointed out that this method is generally applicable to determine equilibrium constants of platinum compounds.
