Focusing ion exchange (FI) has extensively been studied using a pH‐gradient for producing a gradient in chelating tendency. NTA, EDTA, Chel CD, Chel ME and Chel DE are complexing agents, HCl or HClO 4 in suitable concentrations are complex‐destroying agents.
