Two stable solid phases appear in the system NH 4 [Gd‐EDTA] NH 4 [Y‐EDTA] H 2 O at 0°C: the gadolinium‐rich octahydrate NH 4 [( Gd , Y)‐EDTA], 8H 2 O (= phase α) and the yttrium‐rich hexahydrate NH 4 [(Y, Gd)‐EDTA], 6H 2 O (= phase η). An important miscibility gap exists between the two phases.
