Colocynthins A–C ( 1 – 3 , resp.), new pentacyclic cucurbitane type triterpene glucosides, have been isolated from the AcOEt‐soluble fraction of the fruits of Citrullus colocynthis , along with three known compounds, β ‐sitosterol 3‐ O ‐ β ‐ D ‐glucopyranoside, elaterinide, and bryoamaride. Their structures were determined on the basis of 1 H‐ and 13 C‐NMR spectra, DEPT, and COSY, NOESY, HMQC, and HMBC experiments.
