The cluster [Pt 3 (m̈‐CO) 3 (PCy 3 ) 3 ] can be protonated with HBF 4 · OEt 2 to form the cluster [Pt 3 (m̈‐CO) 3 (PCy 3 ) 3 ](m̈ 3 ‐H) + BF 4 −( 2 ). This unstable compound was isolated and characterised by NMR and IR spectroscopy.
