Enantiospecific Synthesis of (—)‐(1 S ,3 R ,5 R )‐1,8‐Dimethyl‐3‐ethyl‐2,9‐dioxabicyclo[3.3.1]non‐7‐ene The isomer (—)‐(1 S ,3 R ,5 R )‐1,8‐dimethyl‐3‐ethyl‐2,9‐dioxabicyclo[3.3.1]non‐7‐ene ((1 S ,3 R ,5 R )‐ 8 ) was synthesized from (—)‐(3 R )‐methyl 3‐hydroxypentanoate with an enantiomeric excess ≥ 96%.
