Four highly oxygenated polyphenols 1 – 4 , have been isolated from the stem bark of Cordia goetzei Gürke (Boraginaceae) and their structures elucidated by a combination of one‐ and two‐dimensional (including COLOC) NMR spectroscopic techniques, mass spectroscopy, and chemical methods. The first new compound, cordigone (1) , is a tetrahydrofuran derivative and the second one, cordigol (2) , a furobenzopyran derivative. The benzofurans 3 and 4 are orange pigments, responsible for the coloration of the stem bark of the tree. All four polyphenols are fungicidal against cladosporium cucumerinum .
