Flash vacuum thermolysis of dialkylcarbamoyl azides. Thermolysis of several N,N‐dialkylcarbamoyl azides 1 in high vacuum gave good yields of 5,5‐dialkyl‐3‐dial‐kylamino‐2,4‐dioxo‐5‐azonia‐imidazolidin‐l‐id ( 4 ) formed by thermal Curtius rearrangements and dimerisation of the resulting N,N‐dialkylaminoisocyanates 2 .
