The liquid phase fractionation factors α H = ( 18 O/ 16 O) H2O /( 18 O/ 16 O)xo 3 −and α D = ( 18 O/ 16 O) D2O /( 18 O/ 16 O)xo 3 −(X = Cl, Br, I) were calculated quantum mechanically between 0 and 100°. Experimental values were obtained in the case of BrO 3 −at 60° showing good agreement with the calculated results.
