From the yellow glands on the leaves and inflorescences of Coleus aquaticus Gürcke (Labiatae) a new, yellow diterpenoid hydroquinone, coleon C, C 20 H 26 O 6 , was isolated and its structure elucidated as 1 . The compound contains a novel 1‐hydroxyprop‐2‐yl‐side chain at C(13).
