The alkaloid (−)‐laurepukine is shown to possess one of the epimeric N‐oxide structures 4 or 5 . Oxidation of (−)‐pukateine ( 3 ) by hydrogen peroxide gives (−)‐laurepukine and, as a second product, 6‐ epi ‐laurepukine.
