Eosine‐sensitized photooxidation of the cyclic N‐aryl‐enamines 1 , 6 and 8 results in oxidative splitting of enamine double bonds. Thereby compounds 2 , 7 and 9 respectively are formed. From a mixture of the tautomeric quinoline derivatives 12 and 13 , on oxidation under similar conditions, the compounds 7 , 14 and 16 were isolated.
