The transformation of lysergic acid and 1‐methyllysergic acid into their homologous acids, i.e. 6‐methyl‐9‐ergolen‐8β‐acetic acid and 1,6‐dimethyl‐9‐ergolen‐8β‐acetic acid, and the synthesis of some of their derivatives are described.
