(1) The NMR. spectra of the stable methoxide addition complexes of 2,4‐dinitro‐, 2,4,6‐trinitro‐ and 2,4‐dinitro‐6‐cyano‐anisole, and the intramolecular (spiro) reaction product of 1‐(2′‐hydroxyethoxy)‐2,4,6‐trinitrobenzene demonstrate that these products are M EISENHEIMER (σ−) complexes (addition of base in position 1).
