In order to study the properties of aromatic sulfur as ligand atom and at the same time the similarity of the quinoline and the isothiazole ring, 3‐phenylisothiazole‐5‐carboxylic acid was synthetisized in different ways, e.g. using the 3‐phenylisothiazole—also unknown up to date—as starting compound.
