Suitable glass electrodes can be used to measure the H AMMETT Acidity Function H o in sulfuric acid/water in the range H o = −1 to H 0 = − 9,6 with a standard deviation of 0.04 H 0 unit. It is shown that such glass electrodes respond as a protode in the range H 0 = −1 to H 0 = −6.
