1. Formation of peroxide as produced in autoxidation of N 2 ‐substituted methylhydrazine derivatives has been studied with the W ARBURG technique. The following methods for its detection have been used: (a) chemical and enzymatic estimation of H 2 O 2 , (b) coupled formate oxidation (H 14 COONa → 14 CO 2 ), (c) methemoglobin formation in suspensions of acatalatic red cells as a «biological indicator».
