After a short description of the principles of subspectral analysis, the method of subspectral transformations is introduced. Subspectral transformations transform parts of the Hamiltonian of complex nmr‐problems into the Hamiltonian of simpler subproblems. The method is applied to spectra of the type A A ′ X X ′, A A ′ A ″ A ‴ X X ′, A A ′ A ″ X X ′ X ″ und A B B ′ X X ′ which are shown to be superpositions of simple and well known subspectra.
