The constitution of hexa‐( n ‐propyl)‐benzene, which is the sole crystalline product of the aluminium chloride catalysed F RIEDEL ‐C RAFTS reaction between n ‐propyl chloride and benzene or n ‐propylbenzenes, has been proved by its synthesis through the trimerisation of di‐( n ‐propyl)‐acetylene.
