Verrucarol (C 15 H 22 O 4 ), the sesquiterpenoid moiety of the verrucarines and roridines, has been linked with trichodermin ( 2 ) and with trichothecolon ( 26 ). On the basis of further degradation to known fragments structure 1 is assigned to verrucarol.
