A detailed account of the structure determination of the 2‐acylindole alkaloids vobasine (XI11 c), dregamine (XX) and tabernaemontanine (XXI) is presented. The relationship of these compounds to other indole alkaloids is discussed, and brief reference is made to their apparent implication in the formation of voacamine type alkaloids.
