Previous investigations of the 1:2‐Cr (and ‐Co) complexes have lead to the conclusion that the azo (and azomethine) dyestuffs which form 56‐rings with the metal atom are arranged perpendicularly to each other (DREW‐PFITZNER disposition). On the other hand those dyestuffs which form 6–6‐rings with the metal atom coordinate in sandwiches, thus making the formation of stereoisomeric 1 : 2‐complexes possible. The critical atomic distances and angles have been calculated and compared with the theoretical values obtained from the coordination octahedron, and found to be in good agreement with the experimental results.
