The critical micelle concentration of detergents composed of ethoxylated nonyl‐phenyl sulfates has been determined by the surface tension method. Although the effect of ethylene oxide chain length on the critical micelle concentration follows a linear expression similar to that of non‐ionic detergents, the influence of temperature on the cloud point suggests a basic difference between the micelles of ethoxylated nonylphenols and those of their sulfates.
