The acid NH‐dissociation of Pthalocyanintetrasulfonate has been investigated. We found, that the monomer H 2 PTS behaves as a moderately weak acid. The p K a ‐value has been determined to 9,6. Due to steric and electrostatic hindrance of attack by hydroxide ion the reaction is surprisingly slow. The bimolecular rate constant is of the order of 3·10 2 l mol −1 s −1 .
