The dependence of the shape of redox‐potential curves of vat dyes on the solubility of the oxidized dye and on possible association equilibria in the solution has been evaluated on the ground of a simple theoretical model. Measurements on several model compounds and dyestuffs have qualitatively confirmed the theoretical results.
