Based on the proton NMR spectra and the known geometry of rings A and B of 5α‐ and 5β‐androstane an equation has been derived for , the anisotropy of the molar diamagnetic susceptibility of the CC single bond, that iswhere Δ CH χmolis the analogous quantity for the CH bond. Assuming values between the range for Δ CC χmolbecomes .
