Potential functions of the form V (ξ) = ξ 6 — υ 2 ξ 2 can be useful in problems involving two symmetrical energy minima. Eigenvalues, eigenvectors (linear combinations) and transition integrals of such one‐dimensional sixth power oscillators have been calculated for a set of equidistant values of the parameter υ 2 .
