A series of d , l ‐and meso ‐1,3‐diaryl‐4,5‐diphenylimidazolidines (II) has been prepared by condensation of formaldehyde with the corresponding d , l ‐or meso ‐1,2‐diarylamino‐1,2‐diphenylethanes (I). Similarly, several d , l ‐1,3‐diaryl‐4,5‐diphenyl‐2‐methtylimidazolidines (III) have been synthesized from acetaldehyde and diamines d , l ‐I.
