Cholestandion‐(1,3) (II) liefert bei der Behandlung mit Diazomethan 1‐Methoxycholesten‐(1)‐on‐(3) (IV) und 3‐Methoxy‐cholesten‐(2)‐on‐(1) (V) im Verhältnis von 2:3 Die Konstitution der beiden isomeren Monomethyläther wurde spektroskopisch und durch Überführung in Cholesten‐(2)‐on‐(1) (VII) bzw. Cholesten‐(1)‐on‐(3) (VIII) mit LiAlH 4 bewiesen.
