Irradiation of 3,3‐ethylenedioxy‐20‐keto‐21‐acetoxy‐Δ 5 ‐pregnene (I) in ethanolic solution leads to the formation of 3,3‐ethylenedioxy‐18,20‐oxido‐20ξ‐hydroxy‐21‐acetoxy‐Δ 5 ‐pregnene (II) and 3, 3‐ethylenedioxy‐20ξ‐hydroxy‐21‐acetoxy‐Δ 5 ‐18,20‐cyclo‐pregnene (IV).
