1 The inhibiting action at 0° and 37° C of a number of Catalase H‐Donors on the purified liver enzyme has been compared using F EINSTEIN 's perborate‐method. Furthermore the effect of enzyme preincubation with inhibitor has been investigated. 2 According to the dependency of the I 50 ‐values on temperature, the inhibitors can be divided in three groups; with the exception of 3‐Amino‐l,2,4‐triazole, they all inhibit the more the lower the temperature. This influence is pronounced in azide and formate; it is slight however in 2,4‐Dichlorphenol and Hydroxylamine. 3 Under certain conditions formate, acting as a stabilisor of complex I, does not inhibit but causes an apparent increase in catalatic activity.
