Soyasapogenols A, B and C are derivatives of Δ 12 ‐3β‐24‐dihydroxy‐oleanene differing in the state of oxidation of ring E. The empirical formula of soyasapogenol D has been revised to C 31 H 52 O 3 and its reactions interpreted in the light of the carbopentacyclic structure XIII.
