A detailed description is presented of the conversion of the racemic pregnene lactone I into d ,l‐aldosterone (XXVIII). In addition a physico‐chemical procedure for the optical resolution of the intermediate acid VI is given, leading to the preparation of the ketol d ‐XV, which was transformed earlier into d ‐aldosterone( 28 ).
