The fractionation of rat liver extracts by ethanol at low temperature and the estimation of the insulinase activity of such fractions revealed that insulin‐degrading principles are spread over the entire fractionation range. A 3,5‐fold increase in potency was achieved in the fraction which precipitated at pH 7,3 and an ethanol concentration of 40–60%.
