Abstract Squalene was synthesized in a modified procedure according to P. Karrer & A. Helfensteiqa starting from naturel and from synthetic nerolidol. After purification through the thio‐urea adduct the synthetic products were found to be identical with pure natural squalene in their chemical and physical properties as well as in their biological behaviour.
