Age determination of meteoritic material by the Rb‐Sr‐method requires accurate knowledge of the Rb‐Sr‐abundances. This is accomplished by the mass‐spectrometric isotope‐dilution technique. The experimental procedure is described in some detail and attention is called to various precautions necessary for this type of work. The evaluation of isotope‐dilution results has often been done wrongly. A complete derivation is therefore given which allows to eliminate discrimination of the mass‐spectrometer. The results are discussed in comparison with those of other authors.
