Two new pentachlorocyclohexanes m.56° and m.107° have been prepared by chlorination of 1,2,4,5‐tetrachlorocyclohexane m.174°. On the basis that, by further chlorination, compound m.56° gave the known hexachlorocyclohexane m.109° while compound m.107° gave a new hexachlorocyclohexane m.72°, they are assigned respectively the configurations lep2p4e5e and 1p2p3e4e5e.
