The catalytic dehydrogenation using carbon disulfide and a molybdenum‐nickelsulfide catalyst on alumina carrier has been investigated, using as a testreaction the formation of azulene from Δ 1,7 ‐bicyclo‐[0, 3, 5]‐decene:Maximum yields in the region of 60% have been obtained. The dependence of the yield on different variables has been discussed using statistical methods.
