Retention and excretion of small amounts of oxalic acid with radioactive 14 C in rats have been investigated. It has been found that on an average 28.7% of the oxalic acid was excreted in the urine, while 25.2% was retained in the kidney. The liver showed only small activities. These results are of clinical interest with regard to the participation of oxalic acid in the formation of stones in the bladder and the kidney.
