COVER ILLUSTRATION The evoked response of decisions about whether to swing the bat or not was investigated in baseball players with different expertise levels in an fMRI study. A nonlinear relationship between expertise level of players and the evoked response amplitude of nodes within the action observation network was found, which might be associated with the underlying processes to interpret the goal of the observed pitching action (strike or ball) and prepare one's own response (to swing or not).
