The case notes of 349 Chinese patients of a psychogeriatric unit in Hong Kong were studied retrospectively and only one case of DSM‐111‐R erotomania was diagnosed. This was a 76‐year‐old widow with a delusion that a male cotenant in the old age home was in love with her. She improved after treatment with neuroleptics and the delusions subsided in 3 months. This case shows that the course of erotomania is not necessarily a chronic one and that culture may influence the expression of the disorder.
