Main Points NO stimulated oligodendrocyte cGMP accumulation in cerebellar and brainstem slices, and in cortical cultures. In response, cultured oligodendrocytes underwent a morphological expansion, suggesting a role for NO/cGMP in activity‐dependent myelination.
