A suggested re‐interpretation of the Lower Palaeozoic stratigraphy around Llanafan Fawr, Central Wales

A recent paper by Lockley (1978) described the stratigraphy of the Towy Anticline around Llanafan Fawr, Brecknock, based on the proposition that there exists a syncline which crosses the Chwefru Valley at Lan Fach. Way up evidence from the area indicates the absence of this fold and a rearrangement of the local stratigraphical sequence is therefore necessary. The revised stratigraphy resembles much more closely that of other sections across the Towy Anticline in south Central Wales.
