For the expansion of the world's largest copper ore mine El Teniente in Chile, two new access tunnels with a diameter of 8 m and a length of about 9 km will be built and the underground network will be extended by 21 km. To secure the tunnels, DSI Underground Chile supplied, among other things, a special anchoring system providing protection against rock outburst (see page 431). (Photo: DSI Underground)
