Tunnelling works for the third section of the Semmering Base Tunnel have officially started. Thus the approx. 27 km long Semmering Base Tunnel is all under construction. In the about 7 km long section Tunnel Grautschenhof two 100 m deep shafts have already been sunk. From the shaft bottom, the two tunnels will now be conventionally excavated (photo: ÖBB Infrastruktur AG, Grafebner) .
